Friends at Paws In Paradise Animal Hospital

We extend our deepest gratitude to Paws In Paradise Animal Hospital at Inlet Beach for recently supporting the rehabilitation efforts of Wanda, our adult female loggerhead sea turtle!

You may recall Wanda, who is currently undergoing her 4th round of rehabilitation at FPMI! After being rescued from the city pier on July 14th, Wanda was found to have fishing gear both internally and externally. The external gear was able to be removed quickly and she was able to pass her internal gear after being fed some cotton balls!

Prior to clearing Wanda for release, we wanted to determine if she is gravid, or carrying fertilized eggs. In order to do that, we needed to arrange for an ultrasound. That’s where our friends at Paws In Paradise Animal Hospital stepped in!

They allowed FPMI to bring Wanda into their clinic to conduct an ultrasound, which confirmed that Wanda was not gravid. This information was critical to Wanda’s ultimate medical profile, and we are very appreciative to Paws In Paradise for the support! Sometimes it takes a village, and we’re very grateful for ours!
